SABIN VIEHLAND is a full service interior design studio based in Litchfield County, CT and Santa Barbara, CA.
The female owned business also services the Hudson Valley & the Berkshires.
Audra Viehland and Michelle Sabin began their collaborative studio practice with the shared goal of making beautiful, livable spaces that improve the wellbeing of people. Decades of combined residential, hospitality, and institutional design experience precede their partnership.
Along with their local network of trade partners and trusted vendors, the two aim to share their collective creativity and design knowledge with their clients.
Audra grew up in Lake Charles, LA, and studied at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she received a Bachelor of Interior Design. After moving to New Orleans post-Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, she spent several years working with the Interior Design and Architectural teams of Perez, APC, where she completed a large-scale casino project, worked on recovery of the New Orleans International Airport, designed new public housing, and received her NCIDQ certification.
In 2010, Audra and her husband Joel relocated to Washington, CT, to open Community Table Restaurant and later, Swyft Restaurant in Kent, CT .
Michelle grew up in Great Falls, Montana, and studied at the University of Oregon, receiving a B.I.Arch in Interior Architecture and spent a semester studying the gardens and temples of Kyoto, Japan.
Post graduation, she worked on a mix of residential and hospitality projects in New York City and Litchfield County Connecticut as project manager for several boutique architecture and interiors firms, including Alexandra Angle Interior Design , Ingui Architects, & Peter Talbot Architects in Washington, CT.
Audra and Michelle first collaborated at Peter Talbot Architects, honing their interior detailing skills through high-end residential, commercial, and restaurant projects, including Community Table and Lake Waramaug Country Club.
In 2020, Sabin Viehland formed their interior design studio. In 2024, they expanded into a bi-coastal practice, with Audra Viehland heading up the Santa Barbara studio.
As Social Media Manager, I uphold the brand's identity across all digital platforms. I focus on crafting engaging content that captivates viewers and boosts visibility. At Boston Back Bay's premier location, I was thrilled to join the exceptional team. Starting as a Front Desk Associate, I quickly advanced to Customer Experience and Sales Manager, where my role involved driving revenue by showcasing the coveted benefits of their Spa and Fitness memberships.
As a member of the Back Bay Association, Boston Chamber of Commerce, Newbury Street League and Boston Proper's Women's Networking Group - I connected with the city at large to ensure exhale was at the front of everyone's mind!
This also included an online presence. At the time, Twitter and Facebook were the two most popular digital platforms and with the two - @alliebackbay was created.
I've developed comprehensive KPIs to monitor our progress and report monthly to corporate. This included analyzing the reasons behind our performance, exploring potential improvements, and identifying actionable strategies. By leveraging email merges, diverse social media platforms, and email campaigns, I've ensured we aligned our efforts with community needs and preferences. This approach allowed us to continuously enhance our initiatives for better outcomes.
In my role as Boston's Executive Assistant at Saks, I was responsible for distributing a daily newsletter to the entire team. This newsletter featured updates on department promotions, managers on duty, team birthdays, and other important store information.
Creating the newsletter was an exciting way to connect with every team member. I focused on being creative while making sure the newsletter was on-brand, friendly, and visually attractive for all readers.
In addition, one of my other favorite jobs was to create and design Saks promotional invitations. I had to create digital invites customized to each Fashion Designer's voice. This was sent out to thousands of retail clients. Sadly, I only had printed, hard copies that stayed with the company.
